Thomas Singing Fish moves through eastern Carolina marsh and forest as if the land is reporting directly to him. Knowledge the old world called obsolete now keeps patrols fed, wounded people breathing, and pursuers walking into the wrong clearing.
Thomas’s Cherokee-descended family stayed as systems fractured. While others stockpiled, he returned to skills transmitted through generations.
He treats tracking and healing as the same discipline: notice what changed, learn what the body or trail is saying, and intervene before the damage becomes permanent.
Scout ahead, identify ambush signs, and use quiet thrown weapons from cover. He breaks contact to stabilize allies rather than chase a fleeing enemy.
