Amos Willis is called Bruce the way old gunslingers earned a name—by stepping between danger and people who cannot stop it themselves. Everything in his old life almost worked. In the wasteland, all those unfinished disciplines finally fit together.
The son of a Marine and a Chinese immigrant, Bruce used martial arts first to survive bullying, then to build an identity. College and MMA both came close without becoming a future.
The Calamity turned near-success into versatility. He can drive, shoot, fight, repair, improvise, and keep moving after specialists run out of answers.
Use speed to cross exposed lanes, disrupt the nearest attacker with flowing unarmed combinations, and draw a revolver only when movement cannot solve the angle.
